We are pleased to introduce our new crew training program for potential crew members over the age of 16. Be a member of the first graduating class of our Academy.
REASON: As our sport of hot air ballooning grows and our festivals grow in popularity, so does our need to make available experienced volunteer crew from our community. Most of our festival pilots come from out of state and need added crew.

Come and learn:
-What a balloon is made of
-Parts of the balloon, for example: basket, burner, envelope, scoop, parachute
-What makes a balloon fly
-How does a pilot control the balloon
-What makes a balloon land
-Assist in assembly of balloon system and launch of two balloons following ground training
-Participate in the balloon Chase and Landing

This will be a BLAST and a very responsible task to undertake. You will have time to meet and interact with several pilots and crew.

We are thankful for the volunteers who have participated in the past. However, we need more. And what Fun it is to actually be a part of the balloon chase crew in helping to set up, launch and packup on landing a balloon especially special shaped balloons.
